M-H Tug of War

I recently aquired this small medallion - about two inches diameter.  It was awarded to Massey-Harris in 1924 for coming second in a Tug of War competition run under the auspices of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada (stated on the reverse side.  So a second prize for MH some 95 years ago!

Anyone come across anything like this before or heard anything about the event?

Unfortunately, I haven't come across anything neat like this, just dropping by to say how unique this is. A little piece of history!

John and Agperkins,

After you posted this medallion on Saturday John, I had to go and check my display cabinets and yes there is one here in Eastern England too, something I had totally forgotten I had.

I often think these smaller items of memorabilia with the history behind them are just as interesting as owning a tractor.

I suppose that these are fairly rare.  After all there were probably only 8-10 in a tug of war team so maybe only that number of medals issued???

Whilst we are talking about "Massey Medallions", here is another in my collection of Vincent Massey from 1951, when he was the first Canadian to become "Governor - General" of Canada.

Here is a rectangular medallion from The 1952 Canadian National Exhibition held in Toronto.

Within one year Vincent Massey is now addressed as "The RT. Hon Vincent Massey".

Vincent Massey was a very popular man in Canada.

Here is the last medallion I have during his term, it's the 25 Years Medallion 1952 - 1977 showing the four Governor General's during that time, Vincent Massey is the lower right corner.

The previous post was the oldest medallion in my collection and this Canadian Massey Ferguson one is the newest, its much larger that the previous ones pictured in this thread.

This one was found in an antiques fair in Lincoln a few years ago by a post card collector who was working for me at the time, he was proud to find a piece for my collection whilst he searched for his passion of historical local post cards.
