BBQ in tractor shed

The year had rolled round again so it was about the due time to have a BBQ in the tractor shed for the three grandsons in particular and close family.  The grandsons enjoy running about but have now reached an age where they can be helpful!  One was allocated to keeping the hot water boiler (an old roadsman's cast pot) going with waste wood and the other to continually brewing cuos of coffee for us all.  The youngest is a bit young for this so specialised in interfering!  Here are a few shots of the event

RE:BBQ in tractor shed

Looks like it was a good time John. Forgive me for getting off subject, but in the last photo, that Challenger looked like it had a single front wheel. If it does, didnt know MH offered that option for the Challenger.

Dakota,

Dakota I have both a green single front Challenger (actually painted red!) as in the photo and a red single front.  They were made especially for the British market with our narrow rowcrop widths.  The V twins were never sold in the UK.  As far as I am aware the British single fronts were made in the UK and fitted to imported USA made tractors.  Just a very few of them have been found in the USA and were presumably so adapted for the same reason.

In the UK the single fronts were shown in MH brochures but as far as I am aware never in the USA.

Very interesting. I know here in the states most single front wheel tractors were used on vegetable farms where those type of crops are delicate. I would assume that would be the same reason over there correct? What year are yours?

RE:BBQ in tractor shed

Dakota,

My green CH is 1937 and the red one 1938,

Greens were only made in '36 and '37 and the reds only in '38.  As far as I am aware there are no records of how many single fronts were made but certainly very few.
