Tonight while searching around for any info on the weight of the Continental JD382 Diesel engine (M-H 55/555), I wound up at a Jensales site which had a downloadable PDF catalog.  That catalog lists a lot of parts that I have been led to believe are very hard to find. They list an entire engine gasket kit.

The larger box in the photo is clearly marked Reliance Power Parts.  Can't tell about some of the smaller boxes.  I will probable check tomorrow with Reliance and see what they offer.

I'm curious if any of you have any experience ordering gasket sets, or other JD382 Diesel Engine parts through Jensales?  Or if there is another direction for getting good engine rebuild parts for the JD382 Diesel engine.

BTW, I still haven't found any information on the weight of this engine.  I believe it is damn heavy.  I tried to pick my spare up to move it on the skid in the barn, and my engine hoist struggled with it...

I've never ordered anything from Jensales but I've had some luck finding NOS parts on ebay and other sources online such as Monte's Equipment in Chicago. According to my Continental diesel engine manual, the bare weight should be somewhere around 900 pounds. It lists the JD382 engine bare weight at 990 but that would include the Lanchester balancer unit.

Thanks for the info, Rich.  I have Monte's in Chicago on my parts sources list, but have never reached out to them.

I suspect that engine weight doesn't include the clutch and bell housing.  Sure seems to me like the spare engine I have on a skid with bell housing, clutch, and output shaft weighs more than 1,000 pounds.  I need to find an engine roll-over stand that is more than capable.

I am interested to learn what you find out, if they offered piston sleeve set and bearings  for the JD382 I'd be all in.  A few years ago they listed  an overhaul set for 260D.  When I called the parts were obsolete.
