1946 Massey Harrisq Senior

I have a 1946 Senior that does not have the “Twin Power” features!!!   It does not have the B on the shift pattern on the transmission, there is no rod running from the governor to the front of the transmission!!!   There’s not any linkage on the transmission to even hook up a rod!!!  I have a 1941 Junior that has the complete twin power feature so am familiar with it!!  Was the 1946 Senior (last year the Senior was built)  the only Seniors without the Twin Power feature  or were they available with or without it???

RE:1946 Massey Harris Senior

Only the very first Twin Power Tractors had all the linkage, etc.  Most just had a step on the throttle adjustment pad.  Up to the step was 1500 RPM and over the step was 1800 RPM.   It was up to the operator.  I know many guys ran them 1800 RPM most of the time.  This is the way they were built after about 1942, on the 81, 101 Jr, 101 sr, 20, 22, 30, and
44-6.

RE:1946 Massey Harris Senior

I have seen the 101 Senior with decals that say 101 Senior Twin Power and also that just say 101 Senior!!!  Mine does have the step throttle but as I stated earlier none of the other linkage!!!  I need to order decals for it so do I go with  the 101 Senior Twin Power or just 101 Senior decals????     It is the Row Crop model with narrow front!!!  Thank You for your input Jerry!!!  Much appreciated!!!

RE:1946 Massey Harris Senior

I've seen the 101 Senior decal but I think all 101 Senior's were Twin Power.  I've also seen 101 Super decals but I think all 101 Supers were Twin  Power also   I would go with the Twin Power decals.  I have a 1946 101 Senior, it had the Twin Power decals on it, I don't know if it was the original decal but I think it was.   When I painted the tractor I put on the Twin Power decals.    Jerry

RE:1946 Massey Harris Senior

I have pics of a 101 Senior taken at Wavery 2 yrs ago, doesn’t say what year it was but had the Twin Power Decals and don’t see the extra linkage from governor to transmission, belonged to Gary Tucker of Aurora!!!  I have a 1938 101 Twin Power but it does have the original linkage like my 1941 Junior Twin Power!! Think I’m going to go with the Twin Power!!!  Again thank you for the input!!!!
