RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Here is the latest implement project lifted out of the weeds recently, this M-H two band straw trusser was a popular machine here in England behind our threshing machines.

Another long term restoration project is underway whilst finishing off some of the longstanding ones which have been waiting for some time.

Hopefully the colourful sales brochure will give me some encouragement and inspiration.

A bit more progress on the trusser, before starting the strip down the many years of caked oil and grease was removed with a good steam cleaning.
The remains of the rotten timber frame soon fell apart and the wheels and axles removed, together with all the upper tinwork, all good patterns ready for replacements being made.
Next job is to straighten out one of the very buckled wheels.

Here is an up-date on the twenty two year Blizzard Ensilage Chopper restoration, all I can say is it's, getting closer to resembling something like a M-H machine, the light is in sight at the end of a very long tunnel.

Thanks to Jack who supplied some feed elevator chains, and drive sprockets recently the next major part of the project is to construct the feed elevator wooden box.

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Been preparing well in advance for next Spring and our "potato theme at next years rally",

This is the M-H potato planter recently purchased at the Bob Parke sale, now its been well cleaned of all the old oil and grease it shows quite a lot of original green and cream paint. So it is now ready for displaying behind one of the Challenger's.

My old planter which I brought back from Manitoba many years ago, the same as this one except no fertiliser applicator attachment fitted, is eventually heading back to the USA, it is amazing how this old iron quietly moves around the world. the new owner visited Lincolnshire early this week before heading home to Oklahoma.

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Here are a few British M-H implements at the end of season Cheffins vintage auction last Saturday.

The 734 grass mower and Dickie hay turner were good restoration projects, the 717 fertiliser distributor was in exceptional original condition, it must of been looked after very well in it's working life and would look well in any collection just treated with oil.
