RE:Pay Pal??

The other Jerry is exactly right. The farther away you stay from these crooks, the better off you'll be.

RE:Pay Pal??

So please tell us more Jerry, I am curious to know why some of you guys across the pond do not use Paypal?

I have used it for several years now for purchases on a well known worldwide site, it's so easy and so far as a buyer I have not had any charges from them, nothing could be easier.

Malcolm.

RE:Pay Pal??

Count me in with all positive experiences with PayPal.  I've been a user for 4+ years and thousands of dollars in transactions.  Never a problem or even a question about how something was handled.

RE:Pay Pal??

Well, I wasn't going to get into the dirty details of my dealings with Paypal, but will say a little bit more. I have been in a tussel with them for several years trying to get money owed me. I have not been successful and they do admit that I have money coming, but it will cost me to get it?????? I have been very vocal about MCA not getting in bed with these folks, but all has fallen on deaf ears. The other comment from JerryD is very true, stay as far away from these blood suckers as possible.

RE:Pay Pal??

"Another Jerry",

I have to agree with what you say about Pay Pal.  I have used it for years now for my e bay and other transactions and found it to be faultless and as many of our payments are in USD I have alwasy found there $:£ excahnge rate very reasonable.

When I have  had a snag with a seller (on only a few occasions), I have found the Pay Pal query service to be most helpful in rapidly resolving issues.  So that's my experience and it has saved me hours of time in motoring down to the bank to buy dollars for payments, saved money on postage and petrol going to the bank, and saved the risk of the $$$$$ being lost in the post which has happened on two occasions with cash.

RE:Pay Pal??

Just another voice from one who has had very positive experience with PayPal over many years.  Just about all of my experience with PayPal is on eBay transactions.  I have not used it for anything else.

I had a recent experience where somebody managed to hack my account, and make a purchase for $499.99.  Since I don't use it frequently, don't know how long it would have been before I caught that.  However, PayPal sent me an immediate email notification of suspicious activity in my account due to a purchase "not in line with my normal usage", and froze the account so that further fraudulent actions could not be taken.  Even though the fraudulent user had made a purchase from a legitimate company, PayPal refunded me the entire amount, painlessly, with no further questions asked.  I was impressed by that.  Of course I immediately changed my password, to both PayPal and eBay, and have continued to use without problem.

And to the first Jerry, I would not say your input has "fallen on deaf ears".  But it's sorta like looking at a seller rating on eBay.  If a seller has a 99.7% positive feedback rating, you are probably going to feel comfortable buying from him.  It isn't 100%, but that 0.3% who had a problem probably aren't going to scare you away vs. the 99.7%.   The overwhelming feedback (not all of it on this site) for using PayPal has been positive.

RE:Pay Pal??

It took a long time for the Board to make the decision to move forward.  I believe they listened to all to comments (both positive and not so positive) and made a sound decision.

Everyone needs to keep in mind - Nothing really changed, they just added to!!  We will still take cash, check, money orders, restored tractors, expensive memorabilia and high dollar implements!!

I can arrange delivery for the last three, the rest is on your own!!

Thanks in advance!!

Gary
