RE:Massey Posters

Keith,

I really like your GP poster, it is very similar to the foldout flyer but it is an actual poster with the loops on the top to hang it. Here is one of my favorite posters in my collection it must be about the same vintage as yours but a different version of it. I am assuming these were dealer posters? Do you have one like this one or is mine one of the sole survivors?

Here is another one in my collection I really like. There can't be many of these out there still surviving. It measures 19" x 28"

RE:Massey Posters

Not exactly posters but here are a couple of pennants I purchased from Harry's Farm Tire store in Wenona, IL a couple of years ago.  Back in the day it was a Massey Harris dealer by the name of Foster Motors.

I later sold them to a Massey collector here in Illinois.

RE:Massey Posters

Well done John,

You have certainly managed to brighten up this long dismal winter on here with this "posters thread", I am sure we are going to see some very interesting, colourful and rare items as this continues.

My offering for today is the 1937 "The Sun Never Sets on Massey-Harris" poster with the coin and flag of each country where M-H was trading.

Keep them rolling out everyone and good to see you back on here Keith.

Malcolm.

RE:Massey Posters

Thank you everyone!  This is turning out to be a very productive and rewarding thread.  I am sure that there are many more to come ........

This is a 100th anniversary poster that M-H did in the UK in 1947.  I was lucky enough to find it a good few years ago up in Scotland.  I wonder did you have a 100th poster in N America?

RE:Massey Posters

Here's another one of my favourite posters.  It's for the Ferguson Brown tractor of the 1930s.  I only know of one other in the hands of a collector in middle England.

If you look closely there is very slight damage in one place but otherwise in good condition.  It is not paper but of a card like material, for, I presume, hanging in a dealer's showroom.

I won this on e bay quite some years ago.  I was trawling for Ferguson Brown items and amazingly this came up in Canada of all places.  The only such tractor that I know of is in the Massey-Harris museum at the Country Heritage Park - formerly Ontario Agricultural Museum near Milton in Ontario.  As far as I am aware they were never sold commercially in Canada but I am  open to correction.

This image was used on some of Ferguson's advertising literature for the tractor.
