UK MCA Winter Meeting

The first weekend in December 2011 saw us all gather in Forfar, Scotland for the auction of the late Ian Robertson's Massey Harris collection.

I am sure some of you will recognise the faces, but for those that don't from left to right:-

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

Now that is a good looking crew!!    Who was the policeman in the group?  Someone had to be looking after you guys - if nothing more than to control the wild spending that would be going on.

Now you need to show us some of those purchases and some that got away.  I just heard John just missed out on a cheap tractor!!

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

Of course we are a "good looking crew" Gary, I tried to keep them all in order to fly the MCA flag as high as we could on the day.

To start with here is a photo of what followed me home on my trailer, the M-H potato digger which was bought new by the Robertson family from local M-H dealer Macintosh of Forfar and worked all of it's life on their farm in Scotland,
I am sure this was one of the very few bargains of the day at £300.00,

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

What a nice potato digger!!  Those are interesting wheels.  Was the second rim an addition or were they built that way!?!?!?  Looks like you could go to work with it tomorrow.

Sounds like that could have been an auction to make the trip for.  Would have loved to seen everything!!

Thanks for the post.

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

Yes the second rim is a "Robertson addition" the derelect one I have here in my bone yard  which you SHOULD remember does not have that, with being pto driven these don't need the deep spade lugs on that wheel like the horse drawn land wheel models.

I will attach a few more photo's of the sale for you to browse.

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

Did you buy that nice 734 mower for me???

RE:UK MCA Winter Meeting

I think this one stayed in Scotland, there will be one come along when you are ready Gary, we do see a small number of them come up for sale each year either in the colective auctions or privately advertised in the tractor magazines, occasionally one pops up on the famous UK ebay site.
