2021 reflections

Well another year is coming to a close and if you block out all the political and other worldly bologna out of mind, I think it was pretty good. Got to attend several shows (including my first MENA show), visit with and make new friends. I am glad I was given the opportunity to do those things this year and I know those experiences/memories will last for as long as I live.

So here's to 2022, Happy New Year everybody.

  Cheers,
             Dakota

RE:2021 reflections

Thanks, Dakota!

It was a good year for tractor shows!  Massey Days at Mad Cow Mountain;  MENA in Evansville;  IL MCA show in Penfield;  Rushville, IN show;  Massey Feature show in Tipton, IN;  MHFCO Show in Lancaster, PA;  and the Half Century of Progress in Rantoul, IL were the ones I made it to.   All were great shows.  All were a good escape from the crap you saw every day on the news.  (If you chose to watch.  I chose not to...)

It was great being at these shows and seeing what level of normalcy was really possible when hanging out with the right crowd.  The heart of America.

Happy New Year to all from here in Central Indiana!  May 2022 only get better!

Cheers,

JB

RE:2021 reflections

I would have to agree with Dakota. This has been some year! I became a member of the MCA which was an honor all in its own. I also accomplished so much in the tractor world. I purchased several tractors this year to add to my growing collection. I also had to sell a few too. The ones I purchased included, 1951 Oliver 77, 1961 Massey Ferguson 50, and a 1979 IH Cub Lo-boy 184. I also purchased a 1970s Cub Cadet Lawn Mower. I sold only 2 from my growing collection. These were a 1955 Massey Harris 33 and the 50 I purchased earlier this year. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and can't wait to do it all again in 2022. Before I start any new projects I think I'll finish the ones I have. I currently have my MH 22, Oliver 77, and MH Pony taken apart awaiting repairs. My plan for 2022 includes restoring my 77 and Pony in time to take my Senior Pictures with my Pony. I plan to attend seveal shows this summer including the MCA Spring Meeting and a local show here in Rosebud Missouri featuring Ford/Ferguson this year, and the tractor show at the Missouri State Fair and maybe a couple more. I hope 2022 gives me more opportunies to learn, have fun and make new friends.
