The 175th Celebrations Continue In England with The Queens Platinum Jubilee.

This week has seen the return of "The Lincolnshire Agricutural Show"  held on the permanant showground near Lincoln. This annual event came back to life with great enthusiasm after missing two years due to COVID 19.

For the Massey enthusiasts it was a 'double celebration' as many stands focused their displays around this special year of our "Queens Platinum Jubilee" celebrating her 70 years of duty.

Our local M-F dealers "Chandlers" were very supportive of the 175th Anniversary (despite no backing or enthusiasm from AGCO), so Tuesday afternoon was time for me to deliver and put the red M-H Pacemaker inside their hospitality marquee alongside a new M-F M 4708 two wheel drive tractor.

The following two days of the show were a great success with excellent weather, and two days of excellent family entertainment across the entire grounds.

I think this now rounds off the 175th Anniversary of Massey Shows that I know of taking place here in the UK, so now I can sit back and look forward to the North American Massey Expo in September.

Here are a few photo's of some modern M-F and New Holland tractors who had certainly gone to a lot of detail in preparing their latest tractors off the production line in celebration of the Queens Platinum 70 Years Celebration.

The M-F 8S 265 prepared by longstanding Lincolnshire M-F dealers Pea***** and Binnington.

Chandlers Celebrating 175 Years of Massey Manufacturing with a range of 2022 Models, BUT interesting to note non of these latest tractors have the 175th anniversary "Born To Farm" logo and the front badges are not to their latest 2022 design.

Malcolm - how are they celebrating the 175th if the tractors are not so marked and no banners flying?  Strange!!

John,

It's a great shame AGCO have missed such a wonderful opportunity to be involved in these 175th gatherings, had it not been for the dedicated enthusiasm by some of their dealers salesmen and staff I don't think this Anniversary would have been recognised here in England.
I felt very sorry for all the Chandlers staff at this event who were enthused  and talking about their history with visitors, but actually they had no support of any promotional items at all from AGCO to advertise their milestone or give out to new and existing customers.

A few years ago all the M-H , M-H-F and M-F dealers would have shown a few M-F combines on their stands during the popular years of M-H and later M-F dominating the harvest scene. In recent years few are now seen at shows. This year it was encouraging to see one M-F combine on display in the traditional red livery and badged M-F rather than the latest Fendt machine which we see in all their advertising.

Another display at the County Show was "A Century of Iconic Tractors"

These tractors paraded each day around the main ring led by the 1903 Ivel tractor built by Dan Allbone in Bedfordshire and now owned by a family descendent, many examples of different tractor makes and models were shown and bringing up the rear in modern tractor technology was the 2022 Massey Ferguson 8S 265. Then following all the tractors was the very latest in "modern Robot technology " a machine designed for weeding in crops and totally remote controlled, a lot of development work with this technology is currently being carried out by The University of Lincoln.
