RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

That's a finger off the main feeder chain of a corn (maize) binder John.

Here's a nice drive cog for what I think is a binder knotter judging by the drive lug on it.  I think this cog shot round a revolution when it was time to tie a sheaf?

Here's a  small slip clutch - possibly for a combine grian auger??  We would call them "dog" clutches.

This is a hoe colulter or Suffolk coulter as we call them.  I suspect it is fairly late Massey-Harris as the earlier ones had different, more period imprints.

Another nice cog - what we call a bevel gear.  Off what?

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Nice little gear here of the slip dog type as we call them.  Very substantially built for its size so presumably transmiting a lot of power and of course would receive a high shock loading if it did have to slip.

Here's the piece that fits on the end of a mower blade to accept the drive from the Pitman arm - you can just about see the MH on it.

Here are a final pair of cogs from the lot I picked up in Canada this year.  Amazing the variation in cog sizes and shapes!

Here's my last bit of cast iron for this session.  I believe that it is the front cover from an MH hand turn straw chopper.  Rather a nice piece I think.
