RE:Something different!!

Joe - I have yet to put the snowblower on my lawnmower.  But tonight, I did get the mower out and bag leaves for the last time of the year.  It is sick when you are still bagging leaves 4 days before Christmas.  Oh well, now I just need to find another day to put the blower on before any of that white stuff arrives.

RE:Something different!!

Getting myself conditioned for the "Whiz-N-Day" coming up next week in Friesland, Wisconsin February 7th 2015 I attended the local Bar Stool Races in Bellechester, MN  today it was a blast!! This is the first time I was able to attend as usually it lands on the same day as when Jo, Sandy, Steve and I hosted the Whiz-N-Day here in Bellechester but it was on the other side of the big one horse town with no stop lights and a population of about 199. It was a good time with a lot of laughs and good times and something you don't see every day. This year they also added a new entry with "Box" racers, this is a sled made out of a cardboard box with only cardboard and duct tape being the construction items for the sled it was a blast!

Hope to see some of you at the Whiz-N-Day next week!

I've been to many county fairs and a few goat ropings, but I ain't never seen nuthin' like this!!   LOL!   I guess when it's that cold and snowy all winter, you have to get creative to keep having fun.

Thanks for sharing, Joe!

You Guys in MN certainly know how to enjoy yourselves. I wish we had Bar Stool Racing over here but we have two problems here in Norfolk. Flat land and no snow. Oh well never mind !!!!!

RE:Something different!!

Well this looks to be as good of a thread to put this as any.  On one of my many searches on our favorite money pit  aka e-Bay,  I ran across an interesting item on the buy it now pages.  A leather Helmet made by Wilson, for Massey Harris Company, Tank division, Racine Wisconsin.  New Old Stock with original Tag.  Now........ just how awesome is that?  In fact the buy it now price reflects that sentiment.  I see there are 10 other people watching this item, besides myself.   Time to fess up guys.  How many of you watching, ran to your piggy bank, and after counting all it's contents came up short,  or tried to explain to your wife that the bathroom remodel can wait till next year,  come on raise your hands, don't be bashful !!!!!!  My cheap excuse is I don't do Tanks.  But I would love to see one of you buy it, and wear it proudly in a parade,  the only problem is it is probably worth more than the Tractor,  for sure the owner.    Well the first one to push the buy it now button WINS,   or loses, I'm not sure which..... .  Happy Trails,  Tim Pace

RE:Something different!!

Someone must have purchased it - I sure can not find it!!  Do you have the link or any reference to it before it sold!?!?

Probably not much crazier than the extremely rare I-244 for $30.000.00!!

RE:Something different!!

Gary,

Your too late!! Tim should have scooped up on this I am sure if he had bought it and put it on his head it would have protected him from Konnie if it could keep shrapnel from hurting you in the war I am sure it would have worked for a mad spouse......

It sold for $2,500.00 don't know who got it but I hope it was someone we know so we may have a chance to see it in person...

If it works here is a link for the auction also here are some pictures of it.

RE:Something different!!

Since I couldn't find a tank I figured a helmet was the next best thing.  Its a 7 1/4 though and I wear a 7 5/8.  so you won't see me wear it on my tractors.

RE:Something different!!

When I did a search for the helmet, I found the Wilson plus about 6 Rawlings helmets for the M38. One of those helmets started a $15,000. For those who missed the wilson helmet, here's your chance.
So what is the difference between the Wilson and Rawlings helmet besides who made them?
