RE:Something different!!

Now if someone had taken a picture of that, that wouldve been cool. Reminds me of some of the wartime paintings I have seen where US and British bombers alike have flown over the countryside while farmers are working.

RE:Something different!!

Dakota & others,

I really like this "Something Different" thread as it brings out a lot of different perspectives and interests of members and shows another side of them we don't always see at the shows. I really liked the pictures of the trucks I don't know a lot about planes but I would love to hear the roar of the engines flying overhead doing their thing.

Now for my "Something Different":  It is with heavy heart to inform you all yesterday JoJo and I lost our little girl Kyra Poncelet. Kyra was born on Massey Days in June of 2006. Her Grandparents are Jack & Lavon Holton of LeMars, Iowa. Kyra made it to many Massey Shows and tractor buying runs from Pennsylvania to the state of Washington over the years. She was our Whiz-N-Day mascot for many of the sweatshirts made by Steve and Sandy Miller of Atwater, Minnesota.  She will be sadly missed as she was a sweetheart.

RE:Something different!!

Joe and Jo,

I am very sorry to hear the sad news of your loss this morning,  we all know how much she was part of your family and every day life either at home or away on "tractor trips".

Time is a great healer but the void Kyra has left will take some filling, please try and remember all the good times and happy memories you both have whilst she was such a great friend and part of your life.

Here she is doing her job and keeping a close watch on the Wallis on my last visit.

Well done Kyra and RIP.

Malcolm

RE:Something different!!

Joe & Jo Jo, I feel so sad for you. I cried when I read about Kyra. My dog is with me everywhere always. As you probably know, she is is at every Massey event & show.

RE:Something different!!

Hi Joe & JoJo,

Really sorry to hear about Kyra.  Seems like we have known her forever.  She was such a well behaved dog.  It was fun to see her at home and on the road with you guys.  Most people never knew she was even in a hotel.  She was a great self-appointed mascot for Massey lovers everywhere.  She was always on the SkiWiz shirts.  I have just about all of them and she was always in them.

Great dog, great friend. She will be missed by many.

Thank you for sharing.

Gary & Ony

RE:Something different!!

It's been along time since this thread was added to so thought I would give it a boost.

Malcolm,
I couldn't help but thinking of you when I saw this. This is not Massey related but really brought a chuckle to me when I saw it. I'm sure many stupid things like this happened back in the day as most farmers just weren't familiar with the new fangled machinery/equipment. Malcolm, do you have any teeth marks in your rear spokes?

RE:Something different!!

Joe,
What a great clip and fully agree with your comments, most operators of all early tractors had been brought up with horses.
I have heard it said here in England the ring on the front pedestal of a Titan 10-20 was there for the times when the tractor broke down and a team of horses could attach a chain to the ring and pull it out the way for the next team of horses carrying on with the field work.
Now I will have to check for "teeth marks on my spokes" when I am next in the shed !!

You posted the photos of me starting my Titan a few years ago with Jack and Judy Turner looking on in the background, ironically Jack was back again visiting my collection on Sunday, the same day as you posted these photo's, hope Jack sees them on here.
