MF 65 design fault

We used to have a tractor design faults thread on here but I can't find it!

So here goes.  I have both an MF 65 and MF 165.  They have notably different clutch geometries.  The 65 clutch when in the engaged position i.e. up  - is 11 inches from the footplate but the 165 clutch is 9.5 inches.  A 1.5 inch difference may not seem a lot but in practice ithe 65 clutch makes for more difficult operation and is somewhat obstructive when mounting and dismounting.  It is surprising that the chief design engineer Herman Klemm let this one through!!  Additionally I beleive that it could have led to more clutch burn outs caused by drivers keeping their foot on the high pedal i.e. riding the clutch by not taking their foot off.

Apparently someone in France invented an adaptor kit for them but they were not widely adopted.
