Auction finds!

Found these toys on an online auction....never heard of the Dinky Toy before, says its made in the UK. Surely our friends across the pond have seen/heard of them before right?

RE:Auction finds!

Dinky was a neat player in the toys.  There are a few variations as well.

They also made a Massey Harris disk hartow, gang mower, manure spreader, hay rack and 2 wheel cart with racks. (Most racks have disappeared over the years.)

The boxes they came in are also nice but hard to find!

Dakota and all Massey Collectors in the USA "Happy Thanksgiving".

Good to hear from you Dakota and pleased you continue to expand your collection of all things M-H, getting into toys during the winter months is great and they don't need large shed spaces!!

We see them regularly over here, different wheel treads including rubber on the tractors, manure spreaders and trailers. I have attached a photo of the rare one to look out for, its the tractor with steel spade lug wheels. Let us know when you find one, so far this is the only one I have seen.
Also attched two more photo's showing the colourful boxes Gary mentioned.

Enjoy your turkey today!!

RE:Auction finds!

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks! I'll be sure to eat some for ya, haha.

I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for that one...they just fascinate me because this is the first I've seen of one...they must be rare in the states...or I'm just not looking in the right places, haha.

Good to hear from you too Malcolm,

 Take care,

RE:Auction finds!

Hello Dakota and all Massey lovers.
If you would like to find more Dinky Toys I would suggest e-Bay. There are always loads of Dinky Toys, Matchbox Toys also from the UK, and a slug of U S A Toys new and vintage. Occasionally, other European Countries, South American, South African, and Austrailian, show up. However, one of my favorite ways to purchase Toys are Toy Shows. Scattered all over the country, all through out the year. The sellers are most often knowledgeable about the toys they sell. Take your time in buying and learn the patterns of pricing. Bargains can always be found. However, when you find that rare item you have searched for a long time, then out comes the "stupid " money. I am sure some of you can relate. Good Luck on your new adventure.
