RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Pleased you like it Joe,

Here is another shot of it before the paint was dry and going to work at Little Casterton
Working Weekend.

Just trying this post as a test Joe, as I understand Jack Turner is still experiencing difficulty posting photo's, he has no "browse" tab to locate the photo on his computer to post, hope you have some magic cure for that please?

(no problem from my computer with this test)

I can't find the correct reply button but never mind. Malcolm That is a nice outfit but as they say, nothing is new in farming. What year would M-H have made those machines? We now have Top Downs and tillage trains. Just the same only bigger! Alan

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Hi everybody,

As I had mentioned, I'm still kind of new to Massey Harris and I know they offered implements too, like the No.28 plow. But I have also heard they offered disk seeders, chisel plows, disks etc. But I can't seem to ever find info on them. Could someone give me a history lesson?

Cheers,
          Dakota

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Alan,

Both the discs and soil pulveriser was advertised in the 1920's and still seen advertised in the M-H Canadian Farmers Handy Catalogues into the 1940's, must of been well liked and successful implements to be available all that time.

Dakaota,

Welcome to Massey Collectors, great to see someone with interest in the older era of Massey rather than just the M-F Classics which seems to be the current "buzz".

There is a lot of interesting information amongst all the threads and discussions on this excellent site, there are some very knowledgeable Massey Collectors on here who will help you discover what a great Company Massey Harris once was, one of their best slogans I like is " The Sun Never Sets on Massey - Harris"

Enjoy your Massey Harris Collecting for many years to come.

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

The recent winter project of the M-H No 51 plough was almost completed yesterday when the local sign writer put his finishing touches to the plough.

Since dragging it out of the weeds four months have passed by in a flash, it's now ready just in time for a display of horse ploughs and cultivators at a show in Norfolk the first weekend in May.

What a lovely plough Malcolm. Looking forward to seeing it at Carrington. Alan

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

The plow looks really nice, Malcolm!  I don't have anything nearly that nice to show for my winter efforts...

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

First show last weekend for the M-H No 51 plough amongst several other local Lincolnshire made ploughs, plus two M-H cultivators and a very early Ransomes Sims and Head one horse plough all fitting into the rally theme of ploughs and cultivation implements..

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Thanks for the photos Malcolm. I hope you had a nice time at Stradsett. I think it is just as nice to see the implements as it is the tractors. The horse implements are particularly nice as you don't see many of them at Shows. Congratulations on your Website Award. I hope you and John keep up your good work. I am sure you will. Alan
