RE:Massey clothing

Im not sure you what you call them in the UK, but here in the States we call them hard hats. Or for those in mining, mining helmets. Hope that was the answer you were looking for.

RE:Massey clothing

Here's another "hard hat"  that I have - A Ferguson.  I am uncertain as to whether these were actually safety hats or otherwise.

That Ferguson hat is pretty neat, wouldnt mind having that! Did Massey Harris ever have anything like this?

RE:Massey clothing

Dakota,

Here's a period Massey-Harris hard hat for you!  There are a few of these still to be found and of different designs but this is the only one that I have.

Neat! I wouldnt mind adding that to my little MH memorbilia collection. Im going to keep my eyes peeled for one.

RE:Massey clothing

Dakota,

I picked one of these modern day Massey-Harris dress hats up a good few years ago on one of our trips to the USA wandering round shows.  I don't know if there are any still on sale somewhere - maybe one of your MH country men can advise.  I have worn mine WITH PRIDE at quote a few shows over here and on flights across the pond!

Anyway they are a good quality item if you can find one.

RE:Massey clothing

Thanks for the birthday wishes, John Farnworth!

Since this is the Massey Clothing discussion, thought I'd throw in a way-back photo on here that actually includes some Massey "clothing".

That's me 30 years ago (and several pounds ago...), sporting a pair of Massey-Harris suspenders (or "braces") along with a Massey 44 hat that you can't see well in the scanned photo, and a Massey 44 belt buckle.   The tractor is Grandpa's 44 ("Old Sam") prior to restoration.

Cheers,

JB
