RE:Massey family Xmas cards

A lovely winter scene probably in a south of England village.  The Grey Fergy doing its bit and taking out bales of hay to feed the livestock

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

John,

I believe the tractor driver of the M-H 25 on Jack's farm was a man called George Sardeson, I am sure Jack will fill us in with a lot more detail on both George and the tractor during their working lives.

Here is another colourful Christmas card from Minnesota a few years ago, at one time the Fank family were regularly seen at many Massey events in the USA, hope they are all keeping well and Merry Christmas Gerald and Char.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

Here is a Christmas Card from a very enthusiastic M-H collector in the County of Somerset which is well known for it's cider production.

Note the M-H bench vice on display in front of his tractor.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

This one is a little "out of my era of collecting", sent to me last Christmas by a very enthusiastic I-H collector in North Yorkshire who I have known since the 1970's and always get a tractor related (not always Massey) from him every year.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

I found this one on my display shelves last night, one which I had totally forgotten about, although again out of my era I thought it was worthy of a mention and photos on here, it should bring back a few memories for many Massey Collectors..

An official AGCO Christmas Card to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of M-H in 1997, and sent to me from Don and Sherry Synder in PA,, What a way to celebrate Christmas plus ending  the 150th year of Celebration together with Don's saying of "Massey's Collect The Nicest People".

Malcolm/John.
The photo of our Massey 25/40 serial No 69069 was taken in1951, it was pulling a No 26 plough on fairly heavy land at the time. The spud wheels were a recent acquisition from a dispersal sale of 'War-ag' (Wartime Agricultural Executive Commitee) sale together with a Killifer Mole drainer which gave the old girl some hard pulling!. She spent her working days with a Wallis 12/20 No 10861, at least that was the No. in the log book but I reckon someone in the office in Sleaford missed a number out!  I still have the log book and the tractror is still alive in the Uk somewhere. You were quite right, Malcolm, George Sardeson was the second driver but Reg Needham was the first, he used to visit the farm occasionally and would always ask George "Now then Mate, are you looking after my old gel?"
John,  thankyou for a second view of the 'MegaDog', you don't half feed 'em well in Wales!!      Jack.

Here we have a suburban snow scene with a running MF 35.  This was a card by the Ferguson Club of UK.  Must be an urban enthusiast as so many enthusiasts are these days!

Here is yet another MF 35 in the snow somehwre in the uplands of the UK.  How long have the geese to live?  They are certainly my favourite Xmas day dinner!

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

This card was sent to me for this Xmas by a foremost Ferguson collector living in the south west of England.  A lovely summer scene to lift us out of the winter gloom which is all pervading here at the present time.  Nice to see the unification of Ferguson and Massey-Harris with the grey Fergies pulling an MH 701 baler and an MH 750 combine harvester.  Very few of the latter now survive but there are still a good few of the balers around.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

This weekend I have been checking my old M-H issued Christmas Cards, earlier I posted a UK card and here is the Canadian version from the same year 1943 again with the same photo's and a different message inside, so I guess both versions of the cards were designed and printed in the same place.
