RE:Massey family Xmas cards

This farmer certainly hedged his bets with an array of makes of tractors.  A John Deere, grey Ferguson, two what look like small MG crawlers, an old Fordson  and an MF 134C crawler.  And the geese for Xmas day.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

Well it is Xmas eve so I will make this the last card of this Massey family Xmas cards session.

It is a snowy traditional farm yard scene with old buildings and  a grey Fergie and dogs ready to go - or maybe it is being parked up for Xmas???

My sincere good wishes to you all for Xmas and the New Year

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

As John says it is Christmas Eve here and the big day fast approaching, so my last Christmas Card posting is in many ways a tribute to my late mother who really did appreciate and support my M-H obsession.

2008 was her last Christmas with us and this is the card she gave me, so it has been kept on the top of my "Massey Cards To Keep" pile.

She must of known a M-H 744 P6 was heading to Salmonby in the future.

Happy Christmas.

Malcolm

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

A lovely one Malcolm - and it is a short wheelbase too tho' I don't think that yours is a 744 "PD" just a later 744.

We started our season of open log fires today - I have just emerged from a very pleasurable snooze!  No warmth to beat that of an open fire - these closed in log burners just don't quite do it.  What do you all think over the pond?  Open fires are fast becoming extinct over here.  Any comments from down under - its seems pretty warm down there from what we hear on the news

A warm and happy Xmas to all

John

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

John,

Well the big day is now over for another year, whilst having
my Christmas Day start up of the 744 I did take a photo of the remains
of each side bonnet transfers, they look to be original to me and do show the "PD"

Enjoy your Boxing Day feast.

John/Malcolm.
I can confidentrly state that Malcom's tractor is certainly a 744PD and hasn't been repainted.   I hope every one had a good Christmas and can now look forward to a healthy and successful 2020.

                                                                      Jack.

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

Jack/Malcolm,

That’s a great piece of info that the 744 is actually a PD!  There are some on the circuit that claim to be but are not or are very doubtful so a great tractor to own.  I don't think we know how many were actually labelled PD (Perkins Diesel for our friends across the pond).  Quite a few 744 owners "WANT" them to be PDs!!!  Again for our friends across the pond only a few early 744s were labelled PD.

We had a nice sunny Xmas day but today is back to gloomy wet i.e. normal British winter!

Enjoy Boxing Day and have a good New Year

John

RE:Massey family Xmas cards

Just to coinfrim the recent conversation both Jack and John were having before Christmas on the M-H 744 PD, here is the original transfer / decal from both sides of the bonnet / hood.

Malcolm.

PS I have just had to verify myself to post this on a subject called "cross walks" we DO NOT have them here in England they are "footpaths and crossings" !!!
