RE:Challenger in buckets

Thanks, would that be the same as a Wallis 2030?

RE:Challenger in buckets

Dan,

The 20-30 is totally different as it is turned so heat goes from front to back and is all one piece, also has the water valve installed into the vaporizer and much closer bolt pattern.

RE:Challenger in buckets

How about a 1220? I know I have seen that style on one of my tractors.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Dan,

The vaporizer you pictured first may look very familiar as it is set up the exact same as what would go on your Challenger it is just a lot bigger.   On a Challenger, Pacemaker or MH 25 the throttle and water valve are cast into the Carburetor.

On the 12-20 and 20-30 Wallis the throttle and water valve are cast into the Vaporizer.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Let me think about it for a bit. Never thought about selling it but if it doesn't fit anything I have I might.

RE:Challenger in buckets

On a totaly different subject has anyone found an oil seal that will fit the front wheels that will take place of the felt seal?

RE:Challenger in buckets

I need some help here. I am putting the vaporiser on the manifold and I have a big gap where it bolts on. The back ocal part hits the manifold before the front part does leaving about a 1/8 inch gap. I have the old gasket and there is no way it will fill up the gap unless I make a very thick one. I checked all the parts with the parts book and they are right. Do I make a spacer or do I make a thick gasket or what? None of my other tractors had this problem.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Dan,

Try bolting the vaporizer to the manifold with the gasket in place and the back part off first. once it is tight put the back part on and snug up the screws. It should pull it up tight, I believe this is why they are on an angle so it will pull it up angst the manifold.

RE:Challenger in buckets

I tried that before I bolted it up and it wouldn't slide up far enough but I will make a gasket and try again maybe that will work.
On some of my other Massey's the gasket covers both the front and back but the gasket that was laying in the manifold bucket only covers the front and that is what it looks like in the parts book.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Does anyone know if anyone is reproducing the manifold covers for a Challenger?
