RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Thanks Wayne, I will add it to the list!

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Hi Steve,

I trust recovery is going well.  I don't know of any information out there that would help us know how many of the Massey-Harris 33 diesels were standards.  Based purely on observation, I would have to suspect the number of 33 diesel standards was considerably less than the row crop versions.  Perhaps even quite a small number.  I have been "second highest bidder" on a couple of them at auction...

Sorry no more help here.

Cheers,

JB

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Dakota,
You can add 2 more 33 Diesels to your list.  My Son Chris has 33DISF 12505P and 33DIRF 9346P.
And on the subject of the P on the end of the Serial # standing for PSB Pumps that sounds correct.
I looked at all my Parts and/or Operators Manuals for the 33 D's and it appears that the PSB pumps were the only pump used on the 33 D's.

The 333 D's Manuals only list the PSB Pump.

The Manuals for 44 D's, 44 SPL D's,  55 D's, 444 D's and the 555 D's used both the PSB and APE pumps.

Hope this info is useful.

Thanks Terry. I seen a picture of your sons single wheel 33D at the Portland show, good job on the restoration!

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Dakota,
I've said for years that one of three things is going on with 33 Diesels. Either there were more than 150 built, or they were really good tractors and nearly all of them have survived, or everyone that has one is really proud of it and so everyone takes their 33 Diesel to the shows.
The one at the Carlise, IA auction yesterday sold for $1600.
I've had mine for several years now. Serial # 33D1RF 8833P. It has a wide front front and was in the process of being restored when I bought it. The wide front is a bit rough and I've thought I would switch it to a tricycle as I like the look of the narrow front under the diesel 33. Time will tell.

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Hello Bob,

Thanks and I'll have to look at my list again, but I think I'm close to having 40 tractors accounted for, (with the help from another member). I too think the 33Ds with the narrow front or single wheel set up look pretty slick. I dont think this is a mystery that will ever be solved, but I sure want to try!

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

There is a 33 diesel on Aumann Auction Fall Harvest Auction. Part of Bob Lyon Collection from Indiana. Auction website has serial number as 7300. It is a rowcrop.

RE:33 Diesel/Kerosene registry

Hello Wayne,

Funny, I was just on there website here a few days ago looking for anymore 33D's, guess I didn't look far enough!  Thanks!
