M-H Spring Meeting in Salmonby.

As Jack Turner has just been seen and discussed today on another thread (Something Different) where he is seen in the photo of my I-H Titan 10-20 tractor.

I thought it was very fitting to post a photo of him sitting on the front wheel of his ex M-H 744PD tractor at my Eastern England M-H Museum Spring Meeting. Over the last three days I have had three different groups visit. Jack was brought along by his good friends Bob and Karen Poole from Peterborough on Sunday and I know they enjoyed their time in Salmonby.

More photo's will follow shortly.

RE:M-H Spring Meeting in Salmonby.

A few photos from last week, getting a few implements out and cleaned up in readiness.
Also some will form part of our "Haymaking theme" at our show in May, so a good excuse to get things out and ready.

A few more photo's from last Saturday, it was a very cold, windy and wet day. Luckily it improved as the wekeend went on.
"Minnesota Masseys" were in a prominant position at the entrance to the yard.

Many visitors remembered seeing the two rusty hulks in the yard pre COVID-19, so there was a lot of interest in the progress on these projects, especially the Cub Junior which part of the tractor has travelled the world and work been carried out in Minnesota, North Wales and many other local Lincolnshire specialists to get to this point of the restoration in readiness for the rebuild which may start next winter.

Excellent pictures Malcolm, thank you for sharing

RE:M-H Spring Meeting in Salmonby.

One visitor last saturday wanted to hear a Green Pacemaker run, he worked on them in their day and wanted to renew his aquaintance after all those years. He described their engine sound as 'similar to a Case Model C' and just as reliable in their working day.
All three tractors were ready to run, he chose the restored one and it burst into life on the third pull up of the handle.

RE:M-H Spring Meeting in Salmonby.

The most popular item throughout the entire three days of visitors was the 'M-H Salesman Sample Running Gear'

No one guessed correctly what it was and various ideas came forward over the weekend including two people independantly suggested it was  a 'coffin carrier', pretty much a one way ticket on your last journey. I don't think those wheels would carry my weight!!!

But it did create a lot of interest.

RE:M-H Spring Meeting in Salmonby.

The three days of visitors was completed on Monday with the attached photos of "The Delivery Boys" Larry Parker and Jim Craig from Leicestershire finding an excuse to have a day out and see a few items of M-H they had not seen before.
Plus they loaded up their trailer and and came bearing more M-H pieces for my collection.

Thank you Larry, now I owe you a pint of beer at our rally in May.
