John,
It's a great shame AGCO have missed such a wonderful opportunity to be involved in these 175th gatherings, had it not been for the dedicated enthusiasm by some of their dealers salesmen and staff I don't think this Anniversary would have been recognised here in England.
I felt very sorry for all the Chandlers staff at this event who were enthused and talking about their history with visitors, but actually they had no support of any promotional items at all from AGCO to advertise their milestone or give out to new and existing customers.
A few years ago all the M-H , M-H-F and M-F dealers would have shown a few M-F combines on their stands during the popular years of M-H and later M-F dominating the harvest scene. In recent years few are now seen at shows. This year it was encouraging to see one M-F combine on display in the traditional red livery and badged M-F rather than the latest Fendt machine which we see in all their advertising.
Malcolm.
