Well they can't say you didn't give it your best shot. To me, the fact that you made it that far is an honor. Your proficiency award is something to be proud of too.

Like Dakota said, making it all the way to State was something to be proud of.  Sounds like the competition at that level was pretty stiff.  Combining the speaking prowess with the mechanical proficiency are skills that will serve you well in life.
